About EmergencyAPI
Built by SEY Solutions in Adelaide, South Australia
What We Do
EmergencyAPI provides a single, standardised REST API for real-time emergency incident data across all eight Australian states and territories. We aggregate data from official government feeds, normalise it into a consistent format, and make it available to developers, businesses, and organisations who need reliable emergency data without building their own integrations.
The API covers fires, floods, storms, medical emergencies, rescues, hazmat incidents, earthquakes, and satellite-detected hotspots. We also maintain a historical archive of 5,500,000+ incidents going back to 1840.
Why We Built This
Australia has eight separate state and territory emergency services, each publishing incident data in different formats, at different URLs, with different update frequencies. If you want national coverage, you have to build and maintain integrations with every single one.
Most developers, researchers, and businesses don't have the time or resources to do that. Government moves slowly and has no commercial incentive to build a unified API. The private sector alternatives are either enterprise-only or single-hazard.
EmergencyAPI closes that gap. One API key, all states, all hazard types, real-time data, free tier included.
Who We Are
EmergencyAPI is built and operated by SEY Solutions, an Australian business based in Adelaide, South Australia. SEY Solutions builds software tools and APIs for industries that rely on real-time operational data.
We are a registered supplier on Supply Nation, Australia's leading supplier diversity platform. Our registration means government and corporate procurement teams can engage with us through established procurement frameworks.

Continuity
EmergencyAPI is a deliberately low-cost operation, and that is itself a continuity feature. It runs on a small monthly infrastructure cost, with no outside investors and no burn rate, so it is not under grow-or-die pressure and does not depend on funding to keep running.
If it ever has to wind down, paying customers will be given clear notice and a full export of their data, and the API will keep serving through that window. It is run day to day by one person, so if I am ever unavailable for an extended period I will post it on the status page rather than leave you guessing.
Organisations that need stronger guarantees, such as data escrow, a contractual continuity plan, or a named secondary contact, can arrange those on the Enterprise tier. Just get in touch.
